GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR OPERATIONS

Consistency of Buttons on Each Screen:You will notice in the screens reflected above there is consistency in the buttons displayed for action.  [Prior] and [Next] are self-explanatory, but this is one method of moving from one record to another.[Add New] simply means adding a new record.  [Update] provides the venue for editing and changing information in the record, and [Delete] allows deletion of the record.  This key is usually provided with authorization, and should be used very carefully.Main Screen Selections:The Main opening screen of the system provides three major tabs in the appearance of a lateral file folder.  Thus, whether you are a police officer, an administrator, clerical person, or a court clerk, you can look at the tabs and choose your area of operation, i.e. [Law Enforcement], [Court], or [General]. Within those three major categories you will see many icons and be able to choose where you want to go in the records and output of  CJTS . many icons, each relating to a particular part of your division.
