MAINTENANCE
The Maintenance icon under the [Law Enforcement] tab is the area where the new Fiscal Year is set for the police department. As to the “timing” of when this is done at or near the end of the calendar year, the police department would normally set this after midnight of December 31st of any given year. Caution: Be sure all previous year’s tickets and incidents are recorded before the new year is set. Once it is reset, all incidents thereafter are numbered with the new year as a prefix.
The [Law Enforcement] tab shown on this screen, as well as the [General] tab would be relevant to the police department operations.
The [General] tab is an area where miscellaneous maintenance items are performed. Most of the options are self-explanatory. However, a word of caution is necessary on the [Backup Database] and [Restore Database] options. These operations should be performed only by authorized persons because a restore would destroy all data subsequent to the last backup by the CJTS system operations manager. This includes all police data, court data, and accounting data.
The remaining two tabs, [e-Citation transfer], and [nCourt transfer] are explained above. The [e-Citation transfer] is utilized for electronic transfers to the Department of Public Safety, and the [nCourt transfers] is utilized for electronic transfers to the website where your city’s online payment option is available for defendants by credit card.
